The Lodge
ABOUT THE PROPERTY
Tucked beneath the Southern Alps of New Zealand, Eleven Cedar Lodge is a fly fishing and adventure lodge like none other. A robust heli-angling program accesses remote stretches of the South Island’s gin-clear water, delivering the uninterrupted sight fishing experience that’s made Cedar Lodge so well renowned. Meanwhile, outdoor enthusiasts of all inclinations get their dose of nonstop action with a new slate of adventures like heli-biking and heli-hiking in hard-to-reach terrain.
Anglers in the know consider New Zealand the world’s trophy trout capital for good reason. With an illustrious 30+-year reputation, Cedar Lodge flies anglers to Mount Aspiring National Park’s unpressured rivers, delivering an unmatched opportunity to land trophy brown and rainbow trout. With extensive experience guiding in the area, our guides’ expertise and command of this particular style of fly fishing is world-class.
Cedar Lodge also offers heli-adventures for those who prefer to hike, ride horses, and taste wine instead of—or between—days out on the water. Particularly well-placed for a secluded experience, the lodge launches you into New Zealand’s most pristine landscapes to heli-mountain bike, go canyoneering, kayak, and more.
Neighbored by staggering peaks and the Makarora River, the lodge boasts interiors to match its wild views. Four suites build on the beauty of the environment, while farm-to-table cuisine reflects the South Island’s bountiful ingredients. A warm sense of Kiwi hospitality underpins the atmosphere, making your time at the lodge as special as your time out exploring what locals call the “timeless land.” To extend your trip, head to our sister location Owen River Lodge to experience some of the best sighted brown trout fishing on the planet.
