About the Property

Nestled in between the North and South Forks of Long Island, Shelter Island is a special place with its own unique vibe.  Reachable only by ferries, private boats and seaplanes, Shelter Island remains a bucolic and idyllic destination beloved by locals and newcomers alike.

The home we represent on Congdon’s Point in Shelter Island is located on its own private peninsula with 443 ft of shoreline on Coecles Harbor, leading out to Gardiners Bay and the Peconic Bays.  Reminiscent of a 1950s fishing lodge, this 6,000 square foot waterfront home is beautifully designed, fully furnished, and perfectly equipped for an incredibly private and relaxing East End experience.

A true hidden gem, Congdon’s Point is the perfect basecamp for summer vacation, restorative retreats,  family gatherings and private events.  Explore the entire East End by land or by boat, and be sure to visit  the area’s festivals, farms, wineries, events and concerts.

Congdon’s Point is available as a vacation rental home only, at a minimum of 15 nights, and does not include guided adventures, wellness, culinary or other activities.  If you are interested in pursuing such services, we would be happy to help coordinate these for you with local experts.  Samples of some of the available activities include: hiking at the Mashomack Preserve, sea kayaking in Gardiner’s Bay, stand up paddle boarding at Congdon’s Point, tubing or water skiing in Coecles Harbor, kiteboarding at Cedar Point, and fly fishing for striped bass, skipjack, false albacore and mackerel all around Shelter Island, Gardiner’s Island, the Twin Forks and Peconic Bay.
