The Lodge
About the property
The rugged spirit of the French Alps is complemented by a refined dose of culture, cuisine and European charm at our premium French chalet — Chalet Hibou. In the Haute-Savoie, a nook of France bordering Switzerland to the north and Italy to the east, summer is all about the outdoors.
Hiking and biking trails wind past centuries-old churches and sapphire blue lakes and lunch is always al fresco. Tucked high up in the mountain village of Le Miroir, Chalet Hibou is the perfect home for exploration and R&R. Our local guides know every peak and trail, not to mention the best spots for gelato, génépi and picnics. Days are spent paragliding, glacier trekking, biking and white water rafting. Evenings revolve around steam and sauna sessions, wine on the patio and chef-prepared meals showcasing the region’s best ingredients.
A word about our COVID-19 precautions:
Like all properties in the Eleven Experience portfolio, Chalet Hibou is a remote sanctuary located far from the beaten track. The small mountain village of Le Miroir has only 30 full-time residents, and guests can choose to arrive via private helicopter, commercial or private plane, or by car. Since the start of the pandemic, our county of Savoie has been one of the least impacted counties in France. The health and safety of our guests and team members is extremely important to us. To keep up on the information on what we are doing to protect the health and safety of our guests and employees, please visit our COVID-19 Update page.

SLEEP
Nestled in the mountains of the Tarentaise Valley, Chalet Hibou perches on top of the tiny French farming village of Le Miroir. With rustic-chic interiors inspired by the property’s alpine surroundings, Chalet Hibou provides unmatched amenities infused with a classic French twist. Wake up rested and refreshed each morning to the crisp mountain air and cowbells signaling the start of the day.
HANG SPACE
After an adventure packed day, relax and recharge with Chalet Hibou’s sauna, steam rooms and outdoor hot tub. Enjoy gourmet chef-prepared meals on the patio while soaking in the mountain views or spend some quality time enjoying local French wines.
EAT & DRINK
Great food is engrained in French culture so it should be no surprise that meals are a highlight at Chalet Hibou. A local dairy farmer delivers yogurt to the chalet door each morning to accompany a hearty breakfast spread of muesli, house-made bread, and made-to-order eggs. Fine French cheeses and garden-fresh salads are served for lunch, even in the backcountry. At night, chef Hannah’s menus showcase Savoyarde dishes like pumpkin velouté with the region’s famed Beaufort cheese, Côte de Bouef, and of course, Raclette and fondue. French wines also take center stage, with nightly menu pairings.
