A Letter from your guide

Jean Noel Gaidet, Ski Guide

Skiing the Alps is unlike anything in the world. Our location on the Italian border allows for a custom, private heli ski experience right from our French chalets. You can literally ski back to your suite at 1,250 meters, after starting your descent up at 3,400 meters. From glacier skiing and perfectly spaced tree skiing, to carving huge turns in wide-open powder fields, the vast diversity of terrain—and proximity to Europe’s renowned resorts—give you an unrivaled experience of the Alps.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

MORNING:

Warm-up at the spa before fueling up with a handmade breakfast. Then head to the heli-pad, where a quick flight drops you into the Italian backcountry. Our expert guides will lead you to the terrain that suits you best, so all that’s left to do is tackle massive runs averaging 1,000-2,2000 vertical meters.

AFTERNOON:

Grab a local Italian pasta lunch and keep exploring the slopes. Vertical, narrow couloirs? Done. Expansive powder-stashed bowls? Easy. Thick pillows through hidden glades? Just below this next roller. When your legs tire out, ski over the border back to France, where the chalet will welcome you for après al fresco in the terrace hot tub.

EVENING:

Enjoy the finest French flavors at an intimate table surrounded by sheepskin-covered chapel chairs. Before sinking into your richly layered bed, we’ll open a bottle of Bordeaux for you and your guests to enjoy by the crackling fire.

Want to explore other adventures? Ski nearby resorts like Tignes and Val d’Isère, or head out with our guides to go ski touring, cross country skiing, ice climbing, and snowshoeing.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What type of terrain will we access heli skiing?

Our operation accesses 40 descents averaging 1,000 meters in length. Expect long, untracked runs and a variety of terrain from steep, narrow couloirs to wide alpine bowls. The vertical relief is giant, snaking through high-alpine terrain, tree runs, and finally to the valley bottom. Because of the great variety, we can accommodate nearly all skier levels.

What is the Alpage, and what can we do there?

The Alpage is our ski-in, ski-out mountain cabin used for special dinners. Pull up a seat inside this historic sheep herder’s hut to join in on the spirit of centuries-old ski culture. Renovated with the Eleven touch, the Alpage greets you with sheepskin throws, a blazing fire, fondue and a glass of local wine. A dinner prepared in the classic French style polishes off the night before you ski home with your guides by the light of your headlamp.

How many different styles of skiing do the chalets offer?

Our Eleven-guided ski options include heli skiing, off-piste skiing, ski touring, cross country skiing, and resort skiing. Heli skiers depart from three nearby heli-bases that access 40 pristine descents. Off-piste lovers take advantage of the resorts’ ski lifts to quickly get into the side country, like Sainte-Foy’s magic forests or Tignes’ glacier runs. Want to go touring? We’ll assist with uphill equipment so you can ski anything from big peaks to low-angle forest routes. Cross country skiers will find their slice of paradise at the resorts’ wide range of tracks. Finally, skiing the variety of world-class resort destinations in our vicinity is a must.
