A LETTER FROM YOUR GUIDE

LANI BRUNTZ

Welcome to legendary Irwin, Colorado, where the powder-caked peaks hold the promise of unforgettable adventure. Nestled within Colorado’s Rocky Mountains, this historic off-grid gem offers an authentic luxury backcountry ski experience.

At Irwin, we travel together on an alpine journey of exploration tailored to your every need. Our expert guides specialize in curating custom experiences that take it all the way to Eleven. Our diverse terrain has something for everyone – from newer off-piste skiers to seasoned adventurers seeking the thrill of tight chutes and untouched powder – Irwin promises a paradise of possibilities.

Irwin is a renowned powder mecca, with legendary storm skiing and blue-bird powder days that will stay forever etched in your memory.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

MORNING

Your group will get outfitted with custom skis and top-of-the-line gear essentials while a chef prepares breakfast. A custom cat then picks you up from the lodge, and after a ride like no other to the top of Irwin, deep powder and completely private use of the terrain make for a backcountry day straight out of your dreams.

AFTERNOON

Lap our terrain as aggressively or leisurely as you want, exploring different areas, learning new skills from our guides, and making every second count with the snowcat. When hunger strikes, fill up on a gourmet meal with your group at our lunch cabin before heading back out to ski.

EVENING

Give your tired ski legs a well-needed reset with a spa treatment, followed by in-house après served fireside. Next, you can opt for an in-house dinner with the family, or go out on the town to drink up the local scene. We’ll handle reservations and make sure you hit all the best spots…which are all within walking distance just a few blocks from home.

Want to explore other adventures? Head out with our guides to snowshoe, cross country ski, backcountry ski, or ski Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

Q+A WITH THE LOCAL TEAM

Q: What is a snowcat? What’s special about Eleven’s snowcats?

A: A snowcat is an enclosed vehicle used to drive up and down the mountain so that you can access untouched terrain for the best possible skiing conditions. Our snowcats are custom built with your comfort in mind—think leather seats, flat screen TVs, heat, sound systems, and large windows

Q: Where is Irwin, Colorado? How do we get there?

A: Irwin, the wilderness area where Eleven’s terrain is located, sits just 12 miles west of Crested Butte. Conditions permitting, the snowcat will pick you up at the front door of Scarp Ridge Lodge or Sopris House and take you on a 45-minute ride through the wilderness to Irwin.

Q: Does Eleven have a home base at Irwin?

A: We have two charming on-mountain chalets at Irwin, where your group will put on your ski boots, have lunch, and enjoy après. You’re also welcome to hang out at the cabins throughout the day if you want to take a break or lounge by the fire if you’re a non-skier along for the ride.
